Chapter
16,
His eyes glistened in the sun
as we lay on the beach.
Children were running around us
while girls were getting their tan.
“Your eyes are
breathless” I said gazing into his perfect green
eyes.
“Thanks” he
chuckled looking at me then back up to the umbrella.
“So, what are we going to
do all day?” I asked looking at the waves that were
crashing against the sand.
“Sit here and gaze into
each other’s eyes” he snorted.
“If you wish” I
said trying not to blink but my eyes were giving in.
“I WIN!” he
shouted, people looked around like we were stupid.
“You wish” I stuck
my tongue out.
His brown hair flipped over and
covered in sand.
I felt the sand in-between my
perfectly tanned feet.
“Let’s go grab an
ice cream” he said holding my hand “Allow me to
take your towel”
“I’m alright
Jesse” I smiled looking around.
Palm trees were swaying in the
gentle breeze.
He opened the door and allowed
me to enter the ice cream shop first.
“What flavor?” he
said wrapping his hands around my neck.
“Candyfloss” I said
licking my lips.
“Disgusting” he
laughed “But if that’s what you
want”
“That’s what I do
want” I said jumping up and down like a little
child.
We sat down on the bench just
across from the ice cream shop.
“Birthday cake, ew”
I said pulling a disgusting face.
“It’s better than
yours” he said dipping his finger into his ice cream and
put it on my nose “Try and get it with your
tongue”
“Ugh” I groaned
trying to stick out my tongue to my nose but it wasn’t
long enough.
“You were nearly
there!” he shouted excitedly.
I got my finger and got the ice
cream off my nose.
“Cheat” he
chuckled.
“It got cold and it was
melting” I said eating the cone.
Once we finished the ice cream
we went for a walk along the beach walk.
It looked like a funfair was
going off.
We got to a fair stand where
you had to knock the tins off with the ball.
“Three goes please”
he said setting his eyes on a teddybear.
I leaned on side of the counter
allowing all my weight to go on the wooden tabletop.
“Ugh why is this so
hard?” he complained throwing them as hard as he could
“YAY!”
The man behind the wooden stand
held out a big stuffy white teddy.
“For you” Jesse
held out and kissed me on the lips.
“Well thanks!” I
laughed holding onto the heavy bear.
“Welcome” he said
holding my hand.
“Jesse” I
said.
“Yeah Casey?” he
looked at me worriedly.
“When I die...” I
said trailing off.
“Let’s not speak
depressive” he said pulling me in for a hug our hips
touched each other “They might be a
miracle”
“But if I do pass away
you’ll remember me right?” I asked
shakily.
“When I first saw your
face I knew you were the one, when I saw your smile my stomach
sank, when I saw you crying I hurt inside” he said
“If you go I will be lost”
“Don’t say
that” I sighed “I want you to be happy, find
someone else to love”
“How can I love someone
else if I love you?” he asked raising an
eyebrow.
I had no clue how to answer
that.
My stomach twisted and I looked
into his perfect big green eyes.
“I just want you to be
happy” I said giving a quick smile.
“I am happy” he
said giving out a quick smile “Forever and
always”
