Chapter
12,
I got home and sat on the sofa
watching some documentary on obesity.
“How can anyone get that
fat?” Georgia said bitterly.
“Shut up” I said
looking at Georgia who turned towards me.
“What?” she snapped
at me in her little b-tchy tone.
“They can’t help
being fat” I said grabbing the sofa pillow and hugged onto
it.
My stomach began to hurt but I
didn’t want to show it.
“Whatever” Georgia
said turning around.
I felt tears coming into my eyes,
this pain was getting bad.
I stood up and walked upstairs,
my legs began to feel weak.
“I can do this” I
mumbled under my breath.
This cancer wasn’t going to
get the better of me.
My breath began to get
lighter.
I felt myself sweating, I got hot
and sweaty, one more step to go.
Suddenly my dad came to the top
of the stairs.
“Casey” dad said
picking me up.
I looked at dad who was
panicking.
“I’m alright” I
said lying on my bed tired.
Dad was on the phone to
mom.
“I’ll see you in a
few” dad said hanging up.
I felt my eyes shut.
Suddenly mom came walking into my
bedroom.
“Mom?” I said trying
to sit up but my body wouldn’t move “I can’t
sit up”
Tears fell down my
face.
“We need to phone a
doctor” mom said.
Dad ran downstairs to get the
phone, I wanted to see Dallas but he was at hockey
training.
“I want Dallas” I
said looking at the clock.
The doctor came around 20 minutes
later.
He examined me and it
didn’t look good.
“You have a chest
infection” he said “We’ll give you some
medication but if it gets worse then go to the hospital, I
recommend you stay in bed for at least a week”
“Is this because I have
cancer?” I asked looking at the smartly dressed
doctor.
“Part of it but the rest is
just the infection” he said, I knew he was lying because
I’ve never felt like this when I have chest
infections.
I guess this is due to the lung
cancer.
Every illness I was getting,
I was going to get weak.
