"Avery!" my best friend screamed. It was the first day of school, my freshman year. I was opening my locker, grabbing my books for first and second period. The best thing that happened so far today was that my best friend's locker was next to mine. Kayla was my best friend for a lot of reasons, but mostly because she accepted me for me and she didn't try to change me. We quickly checked our schedules to see if we had any classes together. We had 2. "Aw dang, it's just 2 classes. That sucks. But whatever, I'm just happy I get to see you sometime in the day!" We exchanged hugs and went about the day. I was hoping so badly that one special person would be in my class. Not Kayla, not Camdyn (my twin sister) , and certainly not Brianna. Who? Carter. He was perfect. I've had the biggest crush on him since 7th grade & he still doesn't know. Lots of people don't know. He was the only one in the whole 9th grade that I hoped would be in my class. More than even Kayla, my best friend. And that's saying something. But of course, it was the complete opposite. Brianna was in my 1st period. And where was Carter? With Camdyn. My twin sister. Could this get any worse? What did I ever do to deserve this?
