Cancer
Is My New Best Friend.
Chapter
10,
It was Saturday the day Jesse was taking me
to the date.
“Let’s find you an outfit”
mom said looking in my closet.
“Mom” I said looking at
her.
“Fine, fine” she said sitting on
my bed.
I picked out a pale pink dress that had
floral lacing.
“I wish I could wear heels with
this” I sighed.
“Wear them” mom
smiled.
“What if I faint?” I said
“and I feel weak, I might pass these down to
Georgia”
“Please don’t say that” mom
said.
“I’ll be gone soon” I said
trying to let out a smile.
Mom remained quiet while I got into my
dress.
“You look beautiful” she
smiled.
“Thanks” I said putting makeup
on.
I heard a beep outside, it was
Jesse.
I walked out with mom looking through the
window.
Jesse jumped out and opened the passenger
door for me.
“You look beautiful” he said
driving off.
“You look good as well” I blushed
allowing the engine noise to fill the car.
We arrived at the restaurant where couples
were holding hands.
“If you feel sick or ill tell
me” Jesse whispered into my ear.
“Can we please not mention anything
about my cancer” I said smiling.
“Alright” he
chuckled.
“Can I help you?” the brunette
waitress smiled.
“I reserved a table yesterday”
Jesse said “Jesse Morris”
She showed us to our table which was facing a
small lake.
“Can I get you any drinks?” the
brunette said.
“I’ll just have a coke
please” I said smiling at the brunette.
“I’ll have sprite” Jesse
said glancing at the waitress.
I bit my lip and looked down to my
fingers.
“What’s wrong?” Jesse asked
shakily.
“Nothing” I
mumbled.
He looked at me and carried on reading the
menu.
Jealousy entered my body, he was clearly
having second thoughts.
