Cancer
Is My New Best Friend.
Chapter
5,
Once I got home Dallas told mom
the whole story about the doctor’s office.
“Casey I don’t want
you going to the doctors” mom said looking at me
“Only when you’re getting your treatment or
you’re ill”
“I can’t do this
anymore!” I yelled “Can’t you
see?”
“See what?” mom asked
sitting down next to me.
“The life I have now is
like being dead, I’m not me anymore” I said feeling
my shoulders sink “People at school tease me, I keep having
dreams about you, dad, Dallas and Georgia moving on without
me”
“There are just
dreams” mom said holding my hand “We will take you
out of school, we’ll get you home
schooled”
“A girl at the dentist
asked her mom why I had no hair” I said looking at
Dallas.
“We’ll buy you a
wig” dad said looking at mom.
“There’s no point
they know its fake hair” I mumbled.
I stood up and went upstairs to
my escape, my bedroom.
My arms stretched over my bed, I
felt nothing but cold and lonely.
I heard a knock on the door;
Georgia poked her head through the door.
“Hi” I said sitting
up weakly.
“Do you want to be left
alone?” she smiled walking over to the door.
“No, its fine” I
smiled patting the bed for her to come sit next to me.
“I know we haven’t
seen eye to eye but don’t give up” she said allowing
the words to escape through her throat “You’re
bringing the family closer”
“What do you mean?” I
said taking a break “Mom’s always depressed and dads
always watching me. And for Dallas he’s protecting me like
I can’t breathe”
“They’re just looking
out for you” Georgia said smiling.
“I know but I want my old
life back, this cancer maybe taking over me but I am the old me
but they think this leukaemia as changed me” I said looking
at the photos on the wall.
“You still want to become
more independent like you was before?” she smiled, she held
onto my hand “I understand”
For the first time in weeks,
I smiled.

I know it's a slow start but I swear the story gets kind of
better.
