Cancer
Is My New Best Friend.
Chapter
4,
After school I walked to the doctors which
are only a 10 minute walk from school.
I told Dallas I had an after school meeting
with the science teacher to catch-up on work.
I sat in the doctor’s reception looking
at all the happy people that probably just had a normal life
without an illness like mine.
“Why as she got no hair?” I heard
a little girl say, I felt tears rise into my
eyes.
“Sorry” the girl’s mom said
“She’s perfect with hair or no hair
Chrissie”
I felt a hard stoned figure sat next to
me.
I looked up and it was
Dallas.
“Why are you here?” I said
quickly.
“What are you doing here?” Dallas
asked me looking at me.
“How did you find me?” I asked
raising an eyebrow.
“I followed you Casey” he said
“Now tell me”
“No reason” I said looking at
him.
“Casey Lewis” the doctor
said.
“I’m coming with you”
Dallas said, I looked up at him and sighed.
He was bound to find out
somehow.
“How are you feeling?” the doctor
said looking at Dallas and then at me.
“Okay” I said.
“So how could I help?” he said
getting a pen in his hands.
“I want to stop my treatment” I
sighed.
Dallas’ head shot around at
me.
“You can’t Casey!” Dallas
said “I promised you, you would be
fine!”
“I’m fed up of all the teasing at
school” I said feeling tears roll down my
cheeks.
“We can stop that!” Dallas said
“Who was it?”
“Look Casey you shouldn’t stop
treatment due to bullying” he said looking at
Dallas.
“If you stop treatment you could
die”
“I’m better off dead
anyway” I said, my stomach twisted.
“Look you would need your
parents’ permission anyway” the doctor
said.
I walked out the doctor’s office with
sadness and disappointment that I couldn’t even give
up.
