Cancer
Is My New Best Friend.
Chapter
1,
*2 months
before*
I was sat in the doctor’s
office with my parents who were sat at the side of me.
I came to see what illness I had,
for days I felt ill and weak I came to the doctors and they told
me they didn’t know what was going on so they ran tests on
me.
Today was the results; I sat
there with my stomach twisting in knots which made me feel sick.
The words couldn’t explain how I was feeling now; tense,
hurt, confused and sick.
“Casey nice to see you
again” the doctor said sitting down, you could say I
wasn’t looking forward to see him, “We have your
tests back”
What have I got?
“Tell us” my mom said
holding onto my hand which felt weak and tense.
“Casey you have
Leukaemia” he said looking at me with his brown eyes
“I’m sorry”
I looked at mom who was crying, I
had no emotions right now.
“How long have I
got?” I said, my dad played with my hair.
“Don’t be silly
darling you’ll recover from this” mom said “I
think its best you go outside”
“No mom I’m
fine” I said looking at the doctor who I could see who was
feeling awkward.
“I can’t say maybe 9
months maybe a year or maybe you’ll recover we can’t
just say at the moment until you have the treatment” the
doctor said.
“What treatment is
available?” mom asked looking at dad “I wish you
would take Casey outside”
“Janet she deserves to
know, she’s 15 for Christ’s sake” dad said, the
room began to feel tense and the air was getting misty like I
couldn’t see.
“Well there’s plenty
of treatment Casey can have, there’s chemotherapy,
radiotherapy and to make sure all the cancerous cells have gone
All-trans retinoic acid” the doctor said giving a
smile.
“Which would you say would
be better for Casey?” dad asked holding onto me.
“Chemotherapy” the
doctor said smiling.
We left 20 minutes
later.
I was dying I could feel
it.

Does this story sound
better? Should I carry on? (:
Sorry if some facts are wrong.
I searched them on the internet such as the treatment for
leukaemia.
Sorry if it's emotional/upsetting for you.
If you don't want me to carry on then I'll remove it and
think of something better.
