It's definitely a sport! You get brush-burn from shoes of your flyer sliding down ur arm, you lift people not weights, do flips, twists, tucks, and it's by far the easiest sport to break something in. Plus we get medals for competing, I don't see football players with medals every time they have a game. It's also just as competitive as any other sport, if not more. <3

To me it is a sport . i fell like it is a lot harder than football or basketball but you technically do the same thing as them . we run a routine that is 2:30 -5 minutes long . it is hard but when we condition we do the ssame thing as football players & basketball players we run, we do planks, push ups, sit up. mountain climbers. it is painstaking but we work through the pain & at the end of the day feel like a champion . If we do thee same thing as basketball & football it should be a sport . so my opinion is that CHEERLEADING IS A SPORT <3

i think it is . could most people get thrown up in the air while twisting up and expected to land perfectly then probably doing a dance after and some back handsprings (:

It is a sport. It's very physically demanding. I don't understand how people think it's not a sport. If they think it isn't they obviously have never tried it.
