If I were to say something to him:

Hold on. It all gets better.
"Everyone wants happiness, noone wants pain, but you can't have a rainbow without a little rain."

I'm not sure what he means by he's not good at anything, but maybe he has yet to see what he's good at.
"Seems the only on who doesn't see your beauty, is the one in the mirror, looking back at you."

Tell him that there's always somebody to lean and to count on, if he ever needs it. I'm sure you're there, and I am for him, too. :)
"We all need somebody to lean on"

And lastly, things WILL get better.
"Everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay, it's not the end."

Tell him, he is an amazing person! Maybe tell him the ways that he has helped you.. changed you.. made you feel speacial! Show him people care, love him, and that he was brought to this world for a reason.. a reason he might not know now, but soon will (:

Tell him to join Witty, first of all, he'll get support here - that's what I did with my best friend. Tell him that things will get better, that it can't rain forever. That if he stays strong and hold his head up high he'll make it through and everything will be okay. (:
