1
I have to get something from the car,
Aubry. Stay right here."
My mom disappeared into the parking
lot and I sat with some other moms and a few kids. One of
them looked at me.
"Hi, you're pretty." The
boy said.
"EW, you have cooties!" I
screamed and pushed him away.
"No it's okay, I took a bath.
My name is Jacob. What's yours?"
"Aubry."
"That's very a nice
name."
I smiled and nodded, and waited for my
mom to come back.
She picked me up and I completely
forgot about Jacob, until 3 days later.
Kindergarten just started and Jacob
was in my class.
After we shared a coloring book, we
became the best of friends.
Then the day he turned 13, he asked me
to be his girlfriend.
I said yes, of course.
But now, he's
leaving.
And he wouldn't even tell me why,
he said it was very important and he really had to
go.
I admit, I was kind of suspicious, but
this is Jacob I'm talking about.
I've known him for 10 years, he
would never, ever lie to me.
Would he...?
