Prologue

“Hey, babe,” he said wrapping his arms around me.
“Hi, Matt,” I sing-songed smelling the aroma of his axe spray, my favorite scent.
“I was thinking, maybe we could go to the fro-yo place down the street,”
“Sounds like a plan!”
            But that was last month…and that will never happen again. Considering I will never vacation in Myrtle Beach again…because of him. I thought he was the one, but obviously it was just a summer fling. Anyway, now is now and I’m almost over him…and that is the most I will ever be.
‘This one’s for you and meeee, livin’ out our dreeeamms’ my phone started ringing, breaking me from my day dream.
“Hello,” I answer dully.
“SKYE! PLEASE COME TO THE MALL! IT’S AN EMERGENCY!” my best friend, Tori screams into the phone.
“Okay, I’m on my way…” I assure her, without even asking.
            When my mom drops me off at the mall, I immediately run to Delia*s, her favorite store. As soon as I see a flash of shiny, light brown hair…I know she’s in here.
“Tori, what’s wro-“ I almost ask, but then I realize she is perfectly fine. “Seriously, dude…what’s the freakin’ problem, you seem perfectly fine to me…”
“But…but I’m not….I…I…I…I DON’T KNOW IF I SHOULD GET LIGHT OR DARK WASH JEANS!!!!!!!!”
“…Oh my gosh, you.are.so.drah.ma.tic.” I say emphasizing the last word.
“Am not!” she insists.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Get the dark wash, you have two other pairs of light wash already.”
“Ok, lemme go buy this, then we can grab some food from the food court, I’m starving,” Tori says rubbing her stomach.
            After Tori buys her jeans, we head off to the food court. Once we stop at Sarku for me and Salad for Tori, we sit down at a table. As I’m randomly looking around…I stop moving my eyes…and I focus on one thing…one person.
“Oh my god, Tori…” I say pointing across to someone at another table. “It’s…Matt.”
