Chapter 1

I walked along the sidewalk, and kicked a pebble with my converse.
I sipped on my smoothie, and listened as my best friend blabbed about her new boyfriend.
"He's just so perfect, you know? There's something so...special about him," Kelly stated.
I rolled my eyes and thought to myself.
You say that about every guy you date.
"Oh, and yesterday, he showed up at my door with flowers, just 'cuz," she added, flipping her blond hair over her shoulder.
"I have a feeling we are going to last a very long time."
That's what you said about the rest.
"I'm happy for you Kel. I really am," I stated. I was happy for her, I was just tired of always saying that, then a week later, hold her in my arms while she cried all night.
"Thanks Izzy. You're my best friend. Always remember that. No guy can ever come between our friendship," she said, pulling me in for a hug.
Or so that was what we thought at the time.
