Dear Nan,
Wow, it's been one year since you left. A year. Three-hundred and sixty five days. I miss you, I really do. The bread and butter, the jelly and ice-cream, just being at your house. Its not the same when we drive past anymore. The people that moved in put net curtains up. You never had net curtains up. I miss how I got to see you every Thursday in the summer. I think you'd be proud of me, and Abi and mum and dad. The extension's finished. You'd be proud of your son. And I think you'd be proud of all of us. I'm getting good grades at school, which I know you always said I was your bright little girl. Your little ray of sunshine. I say that quite a lot now. I call people sunshine, just like you did for me. Times haven't been easy, not in 2011.. but I know that you were watching over us all. You never really left did you Nan? You're still in my heart and in my mind. Just cause you're not with us, doesn't mean you're not with us, with us. I just cant believe it's been a year. It's mad to think it's been that long without you. I kept smiling today.. for you. And for everyone else, 'cause we have to be strong. You'd want us to be strong and smiling.

Maybe you're happier... that's what I like to think. I wish I got the chance to say good-bye, and that'll stay with me forever. But why should I say good-bye when you're never going to leave? See, told you I was bright.

We're going out for dinner tonight to celebrate I guess. Celebrate your life, and my nine b's, my a & my two c's;) I'm sorry, you know what I'm like. I had to get that in there. I've applied for college by the way, so wish me luck Nan.
