A question I ask all the time is,
"What would you do if I pulled out a gun right now and aimed
it at you?" A lot of people say stuff like, "Oh I would
rip it out of your hands and punch you in the face." Or
something like that, but I'm a VERY strong guy so that
wouldn't work. I asked this to my friend one day and you know
what he said? "I would tell you not to shoot me." Ah
friends, they just have all the answers.

I'd ask him why he was going to shoot me, and why he spent money on a pistol and not something useful.
