I am disappointed,
I wonder why society is so harsh,
I hear the cries of others falling apart,
I see the pain and suffering in people’s eyes,
I want to understand the cause of the cruelness,
I am disappointed.
 
I pretend that everything will get better,
I feel the hands grasping onto something for support,
I touch my heart to fell the beat, and remind myself I am alive,
I worry for what people bottle up inside,
I cry underneath my façade,
I am crumbling.
 
I understand that there is more to an egg than just the shell,
I say words that I do not believe,
I dream of seeing clear in murky waters,
I try to see the shades of gray,
I hope for a bandage that covers the wounds,
I am you.
