I
can't see you
Chapter 3
“I don’t understand why you
won’t ask her out if you like her so much” Natasha
said as she kicked the football towards me. She started to
dribble round me as I stood motionless thinking about Lucy.
Natasha smacked me round the back of the head as she said
“Wake up Noah, stop daydreaming all the time” I just
frowned at her but couldn’t be bothered to respond. I just
walked away from Natasha and stomped up into my room. I was
determined to get Lucy to love me back but I didn’t know
how. I couldn’t just ask her out without knowing if she
wanted it or not. I gazed out my window watching the sun set
behind the sky. Burnt oranges and yellows swallowed up the blue
sky as it grew darker. My eyes started to well up and flood with
tears. I heard a knock at the door and I just muttered “Go
away”. Whoever it was they totally ignored me by walking
into my room. “Noah are you okay?” Natasha whispered
while hugging me. “I’m fine Tash just a bit emotional
that’s all” I lied. “You know you can talk to
me whenever you want and I will listen” She whispered. I
just smiled at her and hugged her even closer to me. Natasha
always could make me feel better in any situation. “Love
you Tasha” I mumbled. “Love you to big bro” She
grinned. Our brother and sister moment was ruined as her phone
started to ring. “Hey, oh okay see you then” Natasha
muttered. She looked pretty upset but I didn’t want to ask
her why. “I will see you later Natasha” I said as I
snuggled up into my duvet. The warmth covered my body and I felt
so cosy that I fell asleep.
I was woken up by my phone ringing
and I looked at the caller id. It was Lucy. “Hey Lou”
I chuckled. “Hi Noah, can I come round yours for a while
please” She whispered. “Sure, I will pick you up from
your house” I exclaimed. “Okay see you then bye and
thanks” She muttered as she hung up. I quickly pulled on my
Hollister hoodie and grabbed my car keys. I drove all the way up
to Lucy’s house and knocked at the door. I heard loads of
rustling and muttering from behind the door. The door slowly
creaked open and Lucy was standing there just smiling.
“Come on then you’re gonna get cold” I
chuckled. She gripped my wrist as I took her down towards my car.
I look her delicate hand and lead her into the passenger’s
seat. “On our way now Madame” I smiled. She just gave
me a warm smile and looked out of the window. I could sense
something was up but I didn’t want to worry her.
We made to my house and I took her
up to my room. She just sat on my bed in silence. She
didn’t speak a single word even when I wrapped my arm round
her. “Are you okay Lucy” I asked. She looked down to
the floor and tears raced down her rosy cheeks. I lifted her chin
up towards me and wiped away her tears with my thumb.
“Please tell me” I whispered. “My Dad has
kicked me out of the house because I’m unable to help
anymore as I’m blind” She whimpered. I wrapped my
arms around her, resting my chin on her shoulder.
“I’m sorry about that but you can live with me”
I whispered in her ear. She pushed me away and her whole face lit
up. “Really” She grinned. “Anything for you
angel” I laughed. “Thanks so much Noah you really are
a great friend” She said. I frowned at the word
“friend” I knew I had to change that and make it mean
more. “When you said you’re not unable to see
anymore, does that mean you used to be able to see” I
questioned. “Yeah” She sighed. “I became blind
after glass went in my eyes while I was in a car crash.
“Can it ever be cured” I asked curiously. “I
hope so” She muttered. “Let me tell you on thing you
are the most beautiful thing in the world. “Thanks”
She smiled.
