I
can't see you
Chapter
2
“Noah, have you found the one yet”
My mum laughed. I smiled as I was remembering about Lucy
yesterday. “I’m guessing that look means a yes”
She grinned as hugged me. “I guess so.” I smiled.
“But she keeps saying she doesn’t know if she’s
pretty or not which is quite strange. My mum just stood there
still just smiling as usual. “Have you seen the new girl
Lucy” Natasha asked as she skipped into the kitchen.
Natasha was my younger sister and she is 3 years younger than me.
She was technically my half sister as he has a different Dad than
me. My dad died when I was 3 and my mum re-married again when I
was 8. It wasn’t long till they had divorced which was when
I was 14. “Yeah she looks like an angel” I
boasted. “Well she won’t ever be able to see
that” She laughed. I frowned at her. Why does everyone keep
saying she won’t be able to see how pretty she is?
“Find it out your self” Natasha sighed as she poured
out some cheerios into a bowl. “I will” I
grunted.
“Hey Lucy” I shouted
as I ran down the corridor to catch up with her. “Hi
Noah” She smiled. “How do you know who I am without
looking at me” I questioned as I raised my eyebrows.
“I can recognise your voice” She mumbled. I
gently took her hand and intertwined our fingers.
“Let’s go to our first lesson which is down the
5th corridor. “Thanks Noah” She said while
she was still looking at the floor. “You might wanna look
ahead or you won’t be able to see where you are
going” I joked. Her face just fell into sadness again.
“I won’t be able to see where I’m going
anyway” She murmured. I was about to ask her why but I was
stopped by the bell. “Come on, let’s go to
English” I said.
I sat there writing out my essay
into my English book while Lucy was just sitting there.
“Are you gonna write anything”I asked. She looked up
at me with an emotionless face. “I can’t see what
I’m doing.” She stated. I placed my thumb under her
eye as I examined her green eyes. They were shaped like diamonds
coloured in with a glistening green. “Can you see how I
look” I asked. “No, I can’t see you “She
whispered. “Why” I whispered back. “I’m
blind” She said. I just stared at her, motionless; I
didn’t know how to react. “Yeah and you are going
regret all the compliments you said to me.” Lucy stammered.
“Of course not” I assured her. “You will always
be beautiful as an angel. Her face flushed through with redness.
“Is that what you think I look like” She smiled.
“Yes Lucy I do” I whispered into her ear. “Oh
look someone is getting with the blind girl” someone
shouted. “Who would of thought she would actually get a
friend” A girl muttered. Lucy’s eyes started to fill
in water and her face started to flood with tears. “Shut up
all of you” I bellowed. “Lucy is beautiful and yes of
course I would love to get with her. Everyone stared at me in
shock, including Lucy. I gave Lucy a smirk, telling her I meant
it all.
“Thanks for doing that for
me” Lucy smiled. I placed my arms round her waist and
kissed her forehead. “No need to thank me Lucy” I
said. “You are my friend.” She looked up to me and
gave me a heavenly smile which bared all her pearly white teeth.
“Let’s go to the canteen” I grinned.
“I’m so hungry” Lucy just giggled and playfully
nudged my ribs. “Oh my you hurt me so much Lucy” I
cried sarcastically while I was pushing her away from me.
“Oh didums did someone get hurt by a girl” She
taunted. Now this was a side I haven’t seen of Lucy before.
She is a mysterious girl and I’m liking it. I just gave a
big smirk. This is going to be fun trying to get Lucy to love me
and fall head over heels for me. If every girl in the school can,
I’m sure Lucy will be able to too.
