The Mistake.
Chapter
1,
I
ran into the local food store.
My eyes scanned for the food that costs a
lot,
People looked at me worriedly as I put up my
hood from my jacket.
I looked around going down an empty isle, I
grabbed some sour patches.
My feet dragged down to the frozen isle where
no one was, I looked for camera luckily they were none. I picked
up some frozen fish fingers.
I hid them both in my jacket and wrapped my
arms around me from the coldness from the fish
fingers.
I walked out, luckily no one saw
me.
I ran around the corner and got the food out
my jacket.
I looked at them and
smiled.
“Thank you, God” I muttered under
my breath.
“Why thank God?” a boys voice
said, I looked up and jumped back.
It was a boy in a black sweatshirt and a
bandana around his mouth.
“Uh nothing” I muttered before
stepping around, but he stopped me
“Nothing to be afraid off” he
said pulling down his bandana, “I’ve done the
same”
“Done what?” I mumbled looking
down at the sour patches, he took them out of my hand and opened
them.
“S-Stop” I said trying to grab
them but he put them in the air, I had no luck he was 6ft3 while
I was 5ft1.
“Why?” he said grabbing one out
the packet and placed it in his mouth, I looked around the dark
alley and placed the fish fingers in my jacket
pocket.
“I have no other food except these fish
fingers” I said, that’s right we never had food in,
my parents spent their money on alcoholic drinks and
drugs.
“Poor you” he said
sarcastically.
“What do you mean?” I said
expressing his look, he looked happy or
excited.
“I live on the streets, I don’t
get food at all” he said sitting down pulling his hood over
his face.
“Keep the sour patches then” I
said walking off; I looked back at him before giving him a quick
smile.
“You’re better off on the
streets” I mumbled under my breath. Once I got out the
alley I felt the cold breeze fall across my
face.
I quickly walked home, I opened the front
door to see mom doing weed.
“Mom stop” I said walking over to
her, did she listen? No.
No one listens to the
mistake.
“Go away” she said standing up
still snorting the weed.
“Where’s dad?” I asked, but
she was out of it.
I walked upstairs to see dad asleep on the
bed, with a women.
“W-Who’s this?” I said
looking at the blonde haired women beside him.
“No one, now go away” dad said.
I’m surprised he could say the whole
sentence.
I stormed downstairs and went back to the
store to see if the boy was still there.
He was laying on the ground snuggled into a
green sleeping bag.
