Remember when you were little
a n d  t h e  b e s t  p a r t  o f  y o u r  d a y
was when Daddy came home?

 It would be 6 o’clock and you’d already be bathed and in your pajamas. You’d hear that door open and drop everything you were doing and charge, shouting “Daddy’s home!” You’d slide in your stocking feet and jump into his arms. He would catch you and lift you high over his head and spin you around. You would giggle and hug his neck and give him a big kiss on the cheek. Every night it seemed like Daddy was returning from another life and he had been gone for far too long, even though it had only been a matter of hours. That doesn’t matter to a little kid though, all that mattered was Daddy was home safely and you got to give him a great big hug and tell him how much you love him. I miss this, and guess what; your daddy misses this too. So tonight, when your father walks through that door, give him a great big hug and let him know, that even though you’re not a little kid anymore, you still love your daddy just as much as you did when you were little.
