Untitled
chapter 4; part 2

I made my way down the street, earphones in, and music blasting. Gina only lived a few blocks away from me, so it was easy to get back home.

With out warning, a car flew past me down the street, barely missing me. I watched as it screeched to a holt, and started backwards. It stopped next to me. The window rolled down, and it was Travis. He was only a sophomore, but he had his license, which I highly doubt he got legally.

    “Need a ride?” he asked.

“Not if your going to drive like that,” I retorted.

“I'll slow down,” he said, sticking his tounge out at me.

I walked around the car, and hopped in. It smelled, well, like guy. Sweaty, unclean, and gross.

“You know, cleaning this car once in a while wouldn't kill you” I said,

“Well, with whats in here, you never know.”

I laughed. Travis was probably one of the funniest kids I knew.

We ended up in front of my house about 10 minutes later. It usually took about 15 from Gina's house, but with the way Travis drives, it was shorter.

“Thanks for the ride,” I said, getting out of the car.

“No problem” he said, driving away.

As I walked inside, I heard my mom singing. This could only mean one thing. She had a date.

Ever since my parents divorce, my moms been on the hunt for a new man. She could never stay single for long. Especially not now.

“Who is it this time?” I asked, throwing my bag on the counter.

“What do you mean?” she asked.

“You know, your date. Who's it this time?”

“How do you know I'm going on a date? I can't just be happy?” she said, with a hurt expression on her face.

“Mom, you know your never this happy unless you have a date. Who is it?”

“Fine. Its a guy from work. But hes so nice Ana, I think he might the one!” She said, excited now.

“Oh just like the last guy? And the one before him. 'He might be the one!' You say that all the time.”

Now I know this might sound mean, but it was true. My mom was always dating someone and when she did, she would always say 'Oh this is the one!' when in reality, they would just break up and she'd move on to the next one.

“Ana! Do no-” but before she could continue, I was already on my way upstairs.

“whatever mom.” I yelled back down.

I took my phone out and texted everyone on my contacts list.

Party at my house at 9. Bring whoever, and whatever.
