One Last Chance.

i stood in the shower until the water ran cold, and i cleared my head from thought's i didn't want to hear. i wrapped myself in a towel and stood in front of the mirror again, my eyes looked so empty, so black and so cold.
i dressed in my black night gown, the one my grandmother made for me. it was knee length, with black lace around the chest and it flowed perfectly.
i brushed through my long blonde hair, and covered up my black eye once again.
sky was laying on my bed, the moon light high lighted this blue eyes perfectly.
i lied down beside him, my head on his bare chest, listening to his steady heart beat.
"sky, stay with me tonight" i said softly.
"i promise i'll never leave" sky said smiling.
the sweet smell of pancakes and coffee woke me up, sky wasn't beside me anymore. i walked downstair's to the kitchen, holding my aching ribs tightly.
"morning beautiful" sky said smiling.
i giggled and walked over to him.
"chocolate chip pancakes, how'd you know?" i laughed.
"i can make something else, i'm sorry" he said paniced.
" no no no, there my favorite" i smiled.
sky made me a plate and i sat down at the table, he sat next to me and we ate together.
it was a beautiful saturday, the sun was shining, i could hear the ocean's waves crashing.
after we were done eating, sky cleaned up and i went upstair's to get dressed.
i heard my cell phone vibrate on the night stand, 3 missed text messages.

nicole, where the f**k are you? i haven't seen you in almost 3 days.
rachel's my sexy best friend  :
nic, where were you last night? you never showed.
i didn't reply to jesse, but i replied to rach.
"sorry, something came up. i'll explain it all later, i'm fine don't worry about me okay."
i hit the sent button, and walked over to my closet.
i decided on a black halter style white dress, that fit perfectly. a couple different bracelets in black, and my black flip flop's with the diamond's on the strap's.
the bruising covering my eye was starting to fade, it was a lighter color now and less noticeable.
i applied my cover up to my eye, put on some mascara and eye liner, and coated my lips in a sheer pink gloss, i grabbed my phone, and headed down stairs.
sky had my car keys, and was waiting by the door for me.
"you look beautiful baby girl" sky said smiling at me.
i smiled, took his hand and walked outside to the car.
i sat in the passenger seat, sky had one hand on the wheel, and the other holding mine.
my cell phone rang in my purse, i didn't recognize the number but answered anyway.
"hello, is this nicole payne?" the stranger asked me.
"yes, i'm nicole can i help you?" i questioned.
"miss, is your mother kayce payne?"
"yes that's her, is everything alright?" i started to worry.
i felt sky's eyes on me, i gripped his hand tighter.
"nicole, you're mother is in the hospital she was in a accident, she's not in stable condition."
my heart stopped, and my grip on sky's hand let go.
"miss payne?" she asked.
"yes, sorry" i stuttered.
" i think it's important that you come see her immediately, we don't know how long she'll make it."
