It's only the beginning

C h a p t e r   4

I walked quickly back to our table and saw Lucas arguing with his girlfriend about something while Liz kept telling her to just leave already. From what I had gathered Lucas had caught Nicole kissing Carson. Minutes before I had been kissing my best friends arch enemy’s best friend. Typical Nicole. I finished eating lunch quietly. After Cameron kissed me we had talked about dating and the pros and cons. We had decided to keep it a secret and see if maybe Renea and Carson became friends during the process of this assignment. Renea had been gone for a few minutes and had returned looking confused and kind of scared. After lunch I went to my next to classes; and then tennis came. The one class I had with Cameron, Liz, and Lucas. I have to say I was quite nervous. I walked onto the tennis court in my black tennis-mini and a College Tennis shirt I had gotten that summer at a tennis camp. I immediately spotted Cameron across the courts talking with Coach. I smiled at him secretively and he moved his hand with his cell phone in it slightly. I took this as a sign to check my phone so I did. I saw that I had a text from him and I hit read.
Cameron: Hey, meet me at my car after practice?
I replied with a quick OK and deleted our conversation afraid that Liz would read it.
                Practice ended quicker than usual and before I knew it I was sneaking to Cameron’s car. I got in his tan car and said, “hey.” Cameron’s car was tan and looked just like an old lady car. ‘nough said.
“Hey,” he said leaning over to give me a kiss. Then he pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road. After about 3 minutes of just driving in silence I reached over and turned on the radio. He had a CD of random songs and the first one that came on was Two is Better than One by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift. I started singing along; I noticed he was watching me out of the corner of me and slowly stopped singing.
“Why’d you stop?” he wined like a little boy.
“Because you were starring.. I didn’t know if you liked it!” I replied.
“But baby I did!” he said this time like a gay guy. I laughed and then he said, “You have a really pretty laugh.” I blushed and then realized I had no idea where are we were going.
“Where are we going!?” I said.
“We are going to watch the sunset.” He replied. Awwhh!! How romantic is he?
We sat on the roof of his car, legs entwined, holding hands, and barely watching the sunset.
