and tonight
she'll collapse on her bed, wearing his
hoodie. hugging the teddy bear he gave her for valentines day.
radio on, volume up high. her ipod blasting in her ears, so no
one can hear her breaking down. her phone is laying in pieces on
the floor. she kinda threw it at the wall after she read through
every last cute locked text message. she's looking through
every last picture of him and her, her box of tissues right next
to that empty tub of ben &jerry's. tonight is the night
you'll run through her head more than ever. it's
impossible for her to feel complete after that hole you left in
her heart. and all there is for her to do is lay there wondering
what went wrong?
and tonight
he'll play basketball like he always
does. but he just can't focus and misses every shot he takes.
eventually he gives up and puts in his headphones and goes for a
jog. but that jog just turns in to him running so fast he might
just forget how to breathe. he's blaring their song on his
ipod as loud as it will go. playing it over and over and over
again. he wants her back so much it hurts. he'll go home and
fall into his bed, drenched from sweat. he'll still be able
to smell her sweet perfume on his t-shirt. 'i need her so
much' he says to himself again and again. he'll pick up
his phone to see if she's called and it stabs him like a
knife when he sees her pretty face as his wallpaper. he
throws his phone across the room and one single tear rolls down
his cheek as he wonders what went wrong?
