It's only the beginning

C h a p t e r  2

“Hi, my name is Cameron. I thought I should introduce myself.” He said almost sounding…shy! This was great! A boy was actually talking to me!
“Hi, I’m Allie.” I said sticking out my hand for him to shake. He took it and he used a grip my dad would like, good sign, I thought to myself.
“Well it’s nice to meet you.” He said.
“Nice to meet you too.”

And with that he was gone leaving me wondering why’d he introduced himself to me and not my much prettier friend. I walked to my mom’s car going through the different possibilities of the meeting and then turned my attention to the yummy frozen yogurt that had been placed in front of me.

Its been 4 years since that day and I rarely ever talk to Cameron. Because the day after i met him I found out he was my best friend (Renea)’s arch enemy’s best friend. Which made him my arch enemy. Though I still adored that smile and that hair and dreamt about all the time I could never betray my best friend and date him. I had small suspensions that he liked me. Like that one time at the football game about a 2 years back:

 Friday was here and tonight was the very first football game! I walked into the stadium arms linked with Renea when I noticed someone I did not want to see standing talking to his friends, his back to me.
“Oh gosh Renea! Its Jake! Hide me!!” she grabbed my hand and we ran off behind the bleachers. I managed to avoid Jake until half time. Jake was my Ex-boyfriend after dating for 4 months. He had brown short hair and was about 6” taller than me. I was walking over towards my band friends to wish Lucas and Lizz good luck, when i noticed Cameron talking to another guy in tennis. I smiled at him and he waved and then returned back to my friends. They were about to go on the field so me and Renea stood over a little bit waiting for them to enter the field for the half time show when I noticed Jake walking angrily towards me and Renea. There was nowhere and no time to run from so I stood my ground to take whatever he dished out.

“You *beep* how dare you show your face around here after dumping me. Are you trying to be such a *beep*?” he yelled into my face starting to cause a scene.

“Jake you need to calm down your causing a scene.”

“No you piece of *beep* I will not calm down!” then I got a strong whiff of beer and realized he was drunk.

“Jake your drunk. Stop okay? Just stop!”

“NO!” he said and then slapped me.

I looked up at the angry face starring down at me. Everyone around us was silent as I brought my hand up to my face and touched where he had hit me.
“Lucas! Do something!” I heard Lizz yell. I saw Lucas hand his instrument and run over to us but Jake was almost a head taller than he was. I stepped away from Jake towards Lucas but as I did so Jake slapped me on the other check this time nocking me to the ground. I saw a few stars as I hit the ground and then I saw a red figure swoosh in front of me and Jake landed opposite of me the figure jumped on top of him as police ran towards us calling for back up into their walkie-talkies. Lucas jumped on top of Jakes legs pinning him down and Lizz landed next to me.

“Oh my gosh! Are you okay!?” she said obviously worried.

“I-I’m fine. Who-who is that?”
