BF
Best
friend. or
boyfriend?
Chapter
twenty-two
"Listen... I have Hunter now,
he's a great guy. I'm not going to just leave him
becuase..."
"Because your ex wants you back," Trent finished for
me.
"Yeah. So if that's all..."
"No. It's not. Call I still love you. I know you have no
reason to take me back, but I miss you like crazy. I am so sorry
for what happened, I broke all ties off with Avery too! Just for
you! But, you're my girl, please... just consider taking me
back."
"I don't know..."
"I get it. You have a lot to consider. Just... tell me when
you come to a decision okay?"
"Alright I'll think about it," I agreed. He smiled
at this reply, his white teeth completely sparkling. I returned
one, but it was forced and I'm sure he could tell. He then
walked off, and I headed back over to my friends.
This confrontation had made me miss Hunter, I felt like our time
together was limited and I hugged his waist. Crap, he asked where
I was. Um... should I say I was talking to someone else? That
wouldn't work well... um... I dont know what to reply!
"Oh... uh... um..." I was blanking out! Oh no...
Kelly saved me then, making me laugh with her explanation, she
technically never said I actually went to the bathroom so it
wasn't like she was actually lieing. Either way she saved my
butt, what would I do without her?
Hunter left us to go to practice but that was fine because Ben
was waiting for us to leave anyway. As I had expected, Kelly
wanted to know everything as soon as we got back to my place. I
explained the conversation to her, watching her expressions but
she held them neutral. I really need her right now, I need her
advice, experience, I need my best friend to help me out
here.
Kelly's POV
She was literally considering taking Trent back.... It was
bugging her, she was stuck between two guys. But the thing is,
Hunter doesn't even know there's a chance he could lose
her, so he's not even fighting.
"And he gave me a full out smile, and just walked away.
Kell, what am i spose to do?" she asked me desperately.
"Callie... you can't have this both ways. This is how
you are looking at things. First off, you have Hunter. Now
breaking up with him for your ex would look bad, but I'm sure
he'd understand. You don't want to hurt him, because you
really like him and he's a really good guy and has done
nothing wrong. On the other hand, you have Trent. Your first
love, the one you thought you would never lose. He hurt you, but
he seems sincere enough and you seem to still love him. You need
to stop weighing these pro's and con's and listen to your
heart. There's nothing also I can tell you to do, it's
your decision from here on," I told her. I could tell my
statements about her two guys had been just what she was thinking
in her mind too.
She looked so helpless... I wish I could just push all of these
problems away from her. I might as well get her mind off of
things.
"Anyway, want to go to a movie tomorrow?" I asked,
explaining Jake needed the favor so he could go to the party.
"The things you do for your brother ha, sure, I assume we
are inviting Hunter?" she questioned.
"Yeah, and he can invite a friend for all I
care..."
"Let's check if he's on facebook and ask him,"
she suggested. Well, he wasn't on, and he hadn't gone on
by the time I headed home for the night, or by the time I went to
bed. He still hadn't logged on that next morning. Callie was
very dissappointed because she was worried we weren't going
to be able to ask him to go to the movie at nine. I didn't
mention that he was coming to my house for a project, we needed
the time to work and no doubt she would have dropped by.
The doorbell rang around 1 o'clock. I was home alone with
Jake, and he walked down the stairs, but saw I had it. He stood
at the foot of the stairs, sipping his Dr. Pepper, waiting to see
who it was. When I opened the door to reveal a guy, he seemed
rather suprised.
"Hey," I greeted with a smile.
"Sup Kell," Hunter said as he walked on in.
"Did mom know he was coming?" Jake jumped in.
"Yes," I hissed.
"Jake right? Best running back we have on varsity,"
Hunter observed.
"Ha, I like him already. You look familiar, what's your
name?"
"Hunter," Jake nearly spit his pop everywhere when he
heard the name. He looked at me with raised eyebrows as if to
say, 'the
Hunter?'.
