nineteen
"What do you want," Jake said
coldly as he opened is bedroom door. I slipped past him and sat
down onto his bed. He stood there with the door in his hand
deciding whether or not he should force me to go out, and decided
to let me go.
"Get out I'm busy," he ordered. He sat down in
front of his TV and continued watching whatever baseball game was
on that night.
"I need your help," I said quietly.
"Go talk to mom... or a friend... if you have any. Or go get
a psychiatrist."
"But your the only one I have left," i pleaded.
He looked up at me, his expression a little softer. We use to be
really close, but now with him being a big bad senior, and me
busy being a freshman, we might as well have been on different
planets.
"Did you get your first B?" he smirked.
"I've gotten a B before einstein, and
shutup your a straight A student
too," a lot of people say we're alike. Both athletic,
smart, cocky definitely, and funny. I take after him because ever
since I was little I've looked up to him.
"It's Peter isn't it?"
"Harhar that's so funny. Actually it
is a guy though..." so I explained my current situation to
him. He didn't interrupt me as I talked, but by the end his
expression was merely amused.
"So you helped the guy you like ask out your best friend...
smart cookie right here! Listen, here's what you have to do.
You need to suck it up, and get over him. I can almost guarantee
you're going to lose your best friend if you don't. I
don't know what else to tell ya sis. Things are
pretty messed up."
"That they are..."
"Oh and about Avery, just find some dirt on her and
blackmail her."
"Oh that shouldn't be too hard."
"Yeah well anyway, now that I've helped you out,
you're going to help me. Ashley (his girlfriend) is having a
party on Saturday but mom says I have to spend more time with the
family. So I told her I'd take you to a movie on Saturday and
then go to the party and she agreed. So go find some of those
little freaks of yours and go to a movie and tell my mom you went
with me okay?"
"Okay... I can do that, on one condition: you pay."
"I'm not paying for you!"
"Then I won't go! What are you going to do about it?
Threaten to take the advice you gave me back?"
"Damn manipulative little sister... I need to stop teaching
you my ways..."
With that he picked me up and basically threw me out of his room,
locking the door behind him.
Though my brothers advice didn't help me that much, it was
nice to get all my problems out in the open. I know I need to get
over him... I just don't know if I can. He's my best
friend, I can't like ignore him...
Callie's POV
When I got back from softball practice, I had four new text
messages. One was from Kelly saying: heyyyyy sexy(;. The next was from
facebook, Hunter's on! The third was
from... Avery? What the heck? I give up, you can have
him! What the heck is that suppose to mean? Wait why did
Trent text me too! Hey babe. I know u probably
havent forgiven me yet but I can't
get u off of my mind I miss u and i think im
still in luv with u im so sry please take me back.
I couldn't believe it. He was asking me to forgive him! Truth
be told, I did love him, still kind of do. I waited for him to
say something like this for weeks after we broke up, can I take
him back? And what about Hunter? I don't know what to do.
Maybe Kelly can shine some light in my
situation...
