BF
Best
friend. or
boyfriend?
Chapter
seventeen
It was the next day, Monday, after school.
Callie and I were wondering around.
"Why are we walking around the school again?"
Callie asked
"Because we don't have softball practice for once and
some people were going to start a scrimmage in like fifteen
minutes so chill, have some patience..." I lied evenly.
Yeah, I'm a really good liar, and I can almost always tell
when other people are lying too which comes in handy because i
really hate lieing but its very vital to the plan
right now.
"Hey guys! Callie your in my English class right? So for the
essay that's due tomorrow..." Bree (a friend of ours)
walked over, right on time. She winked at me once Callie's
attention was completely on the paper, and I quickly snuck
away.
I headed around to the back of our school, to a parking lot
that's almost completely vacant during non-school hours.
"There you are! Are you ready for this?" Hunter asked.
I nodded, he handed me half of the posted notes, and we started
on the letter C.
Bree's POV
"So for the persuasive paragraph just follow the rules she
outlined and if you check in the literature book I'm pretty
sure they have the rest," Callie finished.
"Thanks! Um.. this is due tomorrow right?" I pushed
on.
"yup!"
"And... uh... are we going to have to read them in the front
of the class?"
"No, it would take too long."
"But I could have swore Kelly had mentioned us presenting
them..."
"Kay is in the honors class remember? I don't even think
their essays are on the same things..."
"oh... yeah... that's right... forgot about
that..." I wonder if they're almost done, I wouldn't
be able to stall much longer.
Kelly's POV
"I'm gonna die! My back kills!"
I whined.
"Yeah, same, but we're almost done!" Hunter tried
to cheer me up.
"One more word baby! Why don't you let me finish here
and you can work on the path," I suggested.
"Good idea," he stood up and walked over to me. Pulling
me into a hug, he whispered, "thanks so much Kay, I
don't know what I'd do without you, have fun sis,"
he taunted as he pulled away and walked off to start the
trail.
I stood in shock, still feeling the warmth of his body against
mine, my phone vibrating brought me out of this.
Bonnie: are you almost done?!?!?!?
Me: were going as fast as we can it shouldnt be
much longer!Bonnie: hurry!
I did exactly that, finishing the lettering, and headed over to
help Hunter finish up.
Callie's POV
"Yeah he always does the funniest things," I agreed
listening to the third story Bree has told me so far."
"Yes! I know right! So... how are things going with
Hunter?" Bree asked.
"They're not. He's my brother, nothing more, no
matter how much I wish there was..."
She frantically texted someone. Why was Bree acting so weird
today? She is so out of sorts.
"Where'd Kelly go anyway?"I realized my friend was
missing.
"Uh... I don't know.... she's Kelly who knows where
she goes," Bree nervously laughed. She whipped out her phone
and sighed in relief, her whole body seeming to relax.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom be right back!"
she said as she hustled away toward the building. What was up
with her? Where did Kelly go? What the heck was going on?
Me: Kelly where are you?
Kelly: follow the music my friend(;
This made me even more confused, but my phone started to ring
before i could text her asking her to clear this up for me. I
picked up the unknown numbered call, "hello?"
You Belong with Me by Taylor Swift came through my phone,
sounding like an acoustic version, almost like it was live, but
there was no one singing.
I love Taylor Swift, and I began to sing to the music, then I
realized that I wasn't listening to it through the phone
anymore, I could actually hear the music playing. Following the
sound of the notes, I headed around to the back of the school,
the sight made me smile bigger then I ever
have before.
