It helps if you are sitting on the toilet for me, some people prefer one leg up on the edge of the bathtub or bathroom counter/sink. Others just like to squat down on the floor or in the bathtub. Try doing it when no one is home. It will take several tries.

To whoever's secret this is, I'm a sophomore and didn't learn until this year babe :) It's easy, just take a deep breath, angle the smallest size tampon toward your back, kind of slanted, and push the applicator in a bit before you start pressing the tampon in, if it hurts once you finish, it's not in far enough. After that you won't be able to feel it :)
