infatuation:
Tales from the
heart
Volume 1.
Part 1.
"Can I ask you something?" He
said, turning his head to face her, still
laying on his back.
"Ask away." She responded
calmly, turning her head to meet him.
"Do you think I'm hot?" He
asked curiously.
She froze, quickly turning her head to
see the sky.
"W-why do you want to know?"
She stuttered at first, but she collected
herself right away.
She needed to keep her cool.
"Well I don't think girls find
me attractive. So, I need an
opinion." He explained himself
nonchalantly.
"I wouldn't call you
hot..." She began, turning her
attention back on him.
"Ouch." He said jokingly with a
chuckle.
Her cheeks flushed with
embarrassment.
"No-no-no. I didn't mean I like
that." She quickly defended
herself.
He laughed, her stomach fluttered.
"I know, but what did you mean to
say?" He asked her.
"Well I personally don't like to
call people hot." She clarified.
"And why is that?"
"I just think that calling someone,
'hot' is a vain thing to
say." She pointed out.
"I get that." He nodded in
agreement.
For a moment, there was a silence, not
awkward, just plain silence.
"Then what would you call me."
He piped in.
"Um," She began, thinking her
answer through, "Handsome."
She didn't want to call him cute,
that's what she would call her baby
brother.
And she didn't want to give off that
impression.
She definitely had stronger feelings for
her friend.
He smiled at her, she could have sworn
her heart stopped.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome." She said
awkwardly.
"So would you think I'm
pretty?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah."
That's all he said and she left it at
that.
"Well I should get going." He
said, breaking through her thoughts.
"Y-yeah, same here."
"See ya at
work?"
"Definitely."
