,Change Of Heart ♥
[chapter 7]
Landon looked at me desperately. Then, I looked back at Conner.
He turned around and ran out the door. “Excuse
me…” I told Landon. I got up and walked as fast as I
could to follow Conner. I got out of the entrance door, and it
was pouring down the rain. I saw him opening his car door.
“Conner, wait!” I yelled across the parking lot.
“What the hell is wrong with you?! You told me absolutely
nothing about this!” Conner yelled at me. Conner has never
yelled at me like this in our entire life. I slowly made my way
over towards him. “Maybe, I didn’t want to bother
you! Maybe I was going to tell you afterwards!” I yelled
back at him. By that time, Landon was out side. He walked towards
us. “I think Tori should be allowed to spend some time with me. We
were just talking.” Landon said, trying to be as calm as
possible. “I don’t even know if I can trust
you.” Conner told Landon. Conner, then, looked
at me. “Let’s go, Tori. We’re leaving.” He opened
up the door to his car and started to get in. “I’m
not going anywhere…” I said looking at Conner
straight in the eye. “You’re breaking our promise,
Tori.
Please don’t do this.” Conner said. “Me?
I’m not the one breaking our promise. You
are.” I replied back. Conner looked at me,
angrily, shut his car door, and sped off. “Landon, can you
please just take me home? I’m really sorry about all of
this. I don’t know what has got into him…” I
said confused. “Okay. Wait in my car. I’ll go pay the
bill, my treat.” He said walking back into the
restaurant. I found his car and sat in the passenger seat. I was
drenched in rain water. I’m sure my hair was a complete
disaster and my makeup was probably running badly. Finally, I saw
Landon walk out of the restaurant and come to the car. He was
also soaked from standing out in the rain so long, but he still
looked adorable. He got in the car and put the ignition in.
“Thanks for everything, Landon. If you want, do you
wanna just
come to my place? We could talk there.” I asked him. “Sounds
great. Let’s do that.” He replied back. We pulled
up to my driveway and I got my keys out to unlock the front door
to my house. We both settled in and sat on the couch together.
“Anyway, what I was saying at dinner… I’ve
always really liked you and wanted to get to know you better. And
when I was drunk, it pretty much just ruined that for me. I
wanted to know if we could just start all over?” He asked
looking at me. “Of course, that’s the same thing
I’ve been wanting too. Let’s just forget the party
ever happened.” I told him. “I’m sorry
about Conner, again. I don’t know why he’s being like
this. Any other time I’ve went out with a boy, he has been
fine with it. I just don’t know why…” I went
on. “Jealous, possibly?” Landon said, grinning.
“Ha, funny. Very funny. We’re not like that. At
least, I’m not. We’ve always just been good
friends.” I said looking away. “Very good
friends…” He said, half-smiling. “Well, do you
want to watch a movie?” I asked. “Sure. Which
one?” He asked. “How about “The
Notebook”?” I suggested. “Girly. But,
I’ll watch it with you, just for you.” He said.
