3 months later
– “Christine,
COME ONNNN you have got to come out and have some funn!!!”
my friend Sarah looked at me her eyes bright with enthuisiasm, it
had been 3 months seince James had left, 3 months and I was
already only half alive, “ I dontt want to” I moaned,
falling back onto my couch, “ just one night” she
said, “ we’ll just go to the club and have a little
fun” “fine” I whispered, my voice growing
louder, “ just this one night and that’s it”
Her smile grew larger as she took in what I said, “
YESS!!!. Now go get sexy.” She said, “ ha. Ha .ha im
a taken women Sarah lets not forget that”
“’course not “ she said, as she winked “
ill pick you up at 8” and then she walked out the door, I
looked in the mirror, my hair was pulled back and I was wearing
my UMASS boston sweat pants and his army sweatshirt, I wore it
pretty much everyday, sniffing it just to remember him. I pulled
my clothes on and jumped into the shower, I let the hott water
run down my body as I placed my head on the side of the shower,
just thinking, all I do now adays is think & hope that my
James will return home safe, and still in love with
me. I walked out to Sarah’s car
wearing just a cute blue & white sundress and my hair wavy
down my back, “ don’t think im going to do anything
crazy” I said as I sat in the car, laughing at what Sarah
was wearing, probably the biggest push up bra in the history of
boobs and a small tight dress, “ ready?” she said her
bright blue eyes glowed with the intensity, saying ‘ ready
to party till I drop?’ I smiled at her “ sure”
I said. We arrived at the club and walked in, people were dancing
and the music was loud against my ears, “ are you ready to
get this party started?” sarah asked, screaming over the
loud techno music, “ I guess” I said unsurely, just
then a large muscular guy stopped Sarah in her tracks “ hi
there, would you mind if I bought you a drink?” he said
“ sure” she answered as she intertwined her elbow
into his, she turned and winked at me. I walked over to the bar,
“ can I just have a martini?” I asked, “
hi” I heard someone say to me, I turned my head, a tall,
brown haired guys, large muscles and the bluest eyes I had ever
seen, “ hello” I said, not very friendly, the waitor
brought my drink over, “ I got it” said the brown
haired boy, I smiled sheepishly “ thanks” I said,
after I pretty much chugged the martini and just as I was getting
up to walk away, he grabbed my hand “ would – would
you care to dance with me?” he said smiling “ uh- I
don’t know if that the best idea I have –“
“whats wrong, c’mon just one little dance” he
said, “alright just one “ I said looking up at him,
he pulled me to the middle of the floor and grabbed my waist I
wasn’t much of a dancer and he could obviously tell “
just follow my feet” he whispered and I did, we danced in
circles , and we were very close, I looked up to him getting lost
in those eyes, just then he leaned in and passionately kissed me,
his hands gripped at my waist and I pulled at his neck, realizing
what I was doing I quickly pushed him away, “ oh my god, I
– im sorry – I cant” I said as I began to run
out of the club” wait” I heard him call in the
distance, I motioned for a taxi and got in, my hair a tangled
mess from running and my eyes dripped with the salty tears ,
“ im sorry james” I whispered.
I walked into my apartment and
heard the message machine beeping, I walked over and clicked the
button, “ Hello, Christine, this is Sergeant John I am
calling to inform you that Sergeant James Sydney, was shot during
combat and is seriously injurded, he is being flown back to New
York at the moment and will arrive at the hospital soon enough, I
would very much appreciate it if you were to meet him there, he
needs you, this man loves you, stay strong. “ o no, I
thought, tears flowing out of my eyes, “ f●●k, this
cant be happening no no no no” I was saying as I ran out to
my car, “ not my james..”
