Some Cuts Just Won't Heal

 

Chapter 7

               I stared right into Drew's eyes. He immediately looked away and got off of me. He ran to the door and slammed it shut. But even behind the closed doors I could sense him there. I stared blankly at the door, wondering if he is ever going to come back in. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I ran to the door expecting it to see Drew, but it was Dee. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I ran to the door expecting to see Drew, but it was Dee. “Hi!” Dee excitedly said to me. I sighed and said hi back. “Well don’t you look down today.” Dee said to me. I stared at Dee for a second. I noticed that she was wearing, trench coat, sunglasses, and a brief case. “Umm…. Dee? Why are you dressed like that?” I asked. Dee smiled. “Nora, Nora, Nora don’t you remember what we were going to do today?” Dee asked, still smiling widely. I stared at her blankly. “Well…” I started. “You did say something about stalking Drew or something…” Then it hit me. “We…WE’RE GOING TO STALK DREW!?!?” I screamed at her. “Jeez…no need to scream it out loud!” Dee said. “But…I thought we were only joking…that’s why I agreed to it.” I replied, still shocked. Dee grinned, “Nope! I wasn’t joking. See look at this brief case! I have all the things we may need. And oh by the way, here’s your outfit!” Dee said excitedly. I stared at Dee. “I’m sorry Dee…but today I’m just not in a mood.” I said. Dee looked at me with anger in her eyes. “I’m not taking no for an answer! Come on I’m going to get you changed!” Dee said angrily. Before I knew it, I was already out the door of the hospital and in a long trench coat with dark sunglasses on. Dee happily dragged me along. “Dee! This is embarrassing! And why are we wearing sunglasses? There’s no sun!” I whispered to her. But she was too busy searching around for Drew. “I found him!” yelled Dee. I looked over to where she was looking. Drew was sitting there…with a girl. Suddenly I felt like something was stabbing my heart. “Come on let’s go in!” Dee said. “Dee… think we are just going to bother them. Let’s go.” I said quietly to her. Dee looked are me angrily. “We made it this far! I’m not going to quit now! As a friend I can’t just stand here and watch you give up on a person that you like for so long, without an understanding of who that girl is! Let’s go!” Dee’s words comforted me a bit. But the pain in my heart still didn’t leave. I couldn’t help but think to myself, “Who is that girl…? Is that Drew’s girlfriend? Why didn’t he tell me anything?” Before I even realized…I…was deeply in love with Drew.
