Chapter Twenty-Six♥
"Lilli? Are you okay?" I wanted to open my eyes, but my eyelids were way too heavy. "Honey?" I didn't recognize the voice. I shifted on whatever the cushion-y surface I was sitting on was. I slowly opened my eyes. I was in the athletic nurse's office. "See? She's fine. I told you." Elissa was standing against the wall with her arms crossed. What is she doing here? I hate her. Wait, here's a better question, what am I doing here? I started to sit up, but the nurse gently pushed me back down. "What happened?" I looked around and saw Katie and Grace biting their nails and whispering on the far side of the office. "Well, I'm not quite sure, your friends brought you down and said you just fell over. Were you guys running?" I suddenly realized that I couldn't remember what I was doing. "I...I'm not sure. Probably." I gestured towards my running shoes and shorts." "Well I guess you passed out." She began shining a small flash light in my eyes, and made me do all sorts of things. "Am I okay?" "Yeah, it seems like it, there seems to be no real injuries. Let me just ask your friends what happened." She called Katie, Elissa, and Grace over. She asked them a bunch of questions, but they wouldn't give her any answers. I was starting to get very curious. Why would I pass out? Why is Elissa here? She looked bored at the whole situation. "Was anyone else there? Where's the guy who brought her in?" "Brett? He's out there." So Brett carried me in..I was starting to get really impatient. The nurse called Brett in. "Why did she pass out? Do you know? Did anyone try to help her?" Brett's silver eyes misted over and his answer was vague: "She had reason to." "Young man, give me an answer." "Fine, but Lilli has to leave."
I just want to know the truth.
