My Crazy Ordinary Life
Finally Monday came after 2 days of yearning to see Kyle. I woke
up two hours early because I was over excited. I took a shower,
straightened my long brown hair, and applied my charcoal eyeliner
with great skill. I don't wear too much make-up, I wear a
little concealer, eyeliner, very little mascara (to enhance my
lashes), and on occasion a little eye shadow (preferable pink,
purple, or cream colored). I threw on some comfortable clothing
and ran out side to chat with Sophie. Except... Sophie wasn't
there. I whip out my phone and text her:
Heyy Soph.. What's going on? Are you sick? - Aimee
Lynn
Within seconds she responded.
Nah, I'm getting dropped off. Meet me by the tree, I
have something to tell you. - Sophie(=
I suspected "the tree" meant the huge
Forsythia tree in the front foyer. I trudged on the bus and
plopped in the closet seat. It was weird not being on the bus
with Sophie. I got off the boring bus and wandered to
"the tree". Sophie was sitting down with a letter in
her hand. She handed me the letter just as the bell rang. I
folded it and put it in my back pocket, I planned on reading it
in my first period study hall. I got as quickly as I could to Ms.
Clens' classroom and pulled out the letter. It was crumpled
but I didn't care. People around me craned there necks to see
the letter. What nosey people. I excused my self from the room
and locked my self in a bathroom stall. Much more
private.
Dear Aimee,
I just couldn't find my self to say this to you,
face-to-face. Its just too hard. My parents are looking for a new
house, they say, "Florida is too muggy and paying the bills
is getting too expensive". They want to move all the way to
Maine. MAINE!!! I have no idea what compelled them to make this
crazy decision, but they did. I have no idea what I am going to
do with out you Aimee. We've been friends for as long as I
can remember. This is all happening too fast. I hope your not
mad.
Love Always,
Sophie-licious<3
I was bawling in the girls bathroom. Yes bawling. This is crazy,
I've known Sophie forever, why would her parents do this. Its
un-lawful! I pulled open the bathroom door and stuck my head out
to make sure no one could hear my sniffles. I ambled to the
mirror and wiped up my ugly raccoon eyes and fixed them up. I
needed to talk to Sophie. I walked back to Ms. Clens' room
like nothing happened. I asked her if I could go to the French
room which is were Sophie would be. As I was walking down the
long language hall, I passed Kyle. He stopped me to hand me yet
another letter. What is up with the letters. He gave me a smile,
half hugged me, and then continued walking. I really wanted to
just sit down in the hallway and read his letter, but I knew that
I had to talk to Sophie about her letter first. I continued
walking until I came across the French room. I opened the door
and walked in (I know rude, but thats how our school likes us to
do things). I walked over to the French teacher asked her if
Sophie could be excused then motioned Sophie to the door.
"How did you convince her?", Sophie gawks.
"All I asked was for you to be excused... and Volia", I
said. I looked her in the eyes and said, "Why didn't you
tell me sooner, how long have you known for?".
She hesitated for a few seconds and a tear fell down her face,
"I've known since a day before school, I just
couldn't will my self to tell you. I didn't want to hurt
you", She cries.
"Don't cry, I have a plan", I say
mischievously.
