Samantha's POV 

Justin laughed. “I’m not giving in that easily,” he replied. “We’ll literally be there in five minutes. Can you wait that long?”

I shrugged defiantly. “I don’t know. Are you going to test me? Or tell me?” I asked.

“I like challenging people,” he said, trying not to laugh. “Are you up for a challenge? Or shall I tell you now? Because you know, that wouldn’t be me giving in, it would be you.”

“Fine. I can wait,” I said.

“Thought so.”

I stuck my tongue out at him and he laughed. We pulled up to what looked like an apartment building on a busy street. He stopped the car right in front and a man jogged out. Justin rolled down my window and said, “We’ll be here for about an hour, if not less. I’ll call down a few minutes before I need it brought back around. Thanks, Ken.” The guy that he so clearly knew nodded, opening my door. “Wait, Samantha,” Justin said before I got out. “You have to know where to go first.”

“Okay, then,” I said, getting impatient. “Tell me where to go!”

He smiled. “Run inside the apartment building and get in an elevator. Go to the 14^th floor and wait for me there. I’ll be right up,” he said.

“Fine. See you up there,” I replied. I got out of the car and ran into the building. I did as he said and waited for a minute or two. Then I heard the ding of the elevator and out came Justin. He came over to me, pulled me close, and kissed me.

“Here we are,” he said. “Now, was that really so bad?”

I laughed. “Yes,” I said, “it was.”

He laughed. “Come on,” he said, gesturing to an apartment a few doors down. “This way.”

I followed after him. He knocked on a door and a woman came to open it, revealing an apartment that had been converted into a salon. “Justin!” she exclaimed. She hugged him and looked questioningly at him when she pulled away.

“This is Samantha,” he said. She moved aside, letting us in and also showing us to everyone else in there. I recognized a few faces because of Alexis and Olivia’s obsession, like Scooter and Kenny. “Everyone, this is Samantha,” Justin repeated again. “My…girlfriend.” Everyone clapped and laughed. I heard a few “aww’s” and I blushed. “Samantha, this is everyone. Scooter, Kenny, Dan, Ry, and Veronica,” he said, pointing each person out.

“It’s nice to meet you all,” I said.

“You, too,” Veronica said. “Okay, Justin. Are you ready?”

He looked at me with a slightly scared look in his eyes. “They want me to cut my hair today,” he told me.

“Heaven forbid!” I said sarcastically. Everyone laughed.

“This is serious! This day will forever be a milestone in my life.”

“Jesus, Justin. Enough with the drama. Sit down and shut up,” Scooter said. Justin laughed and did as he was told. He took his phone and his wallet out of his back pocket and put it on a table.

“Okay,” he said. He took a deep breath and shut his eyes. “I’m ready.”

Veronica was in the process of cutting Justin’s hair when his phone rang. “Sam, can you get it?”

“Sure.” I picked up and said, “Hello?”

“Hi, Justin?” the person on the other line said. The girl on the other line said. “It’s Selena.”
