chapter
one
"Hayley!" I heard someone yell from
our greasy 2-room apartment. "Daddy wants breakfast!"
the voice reminded. It was my brother Justin. You see, my dad was
clinicly depressed. Ever since my mom left 2 years ago he cant
seem to get a grip on life. I look after my 2 younger siblings,
Justin and Gracie who were twin 5 year olds. "And hurry up
with it!" I heard my Dads deep,raspy voice call from his
bedroom where he layed all day. "Coming" I gathered the
fried eggs and bacon. I ran to his humid room and was greeted by
a musty stench that smelt like a mix between sweat, old feet and
rotting food. He snatched the plate."Be faster with it i
can't wait here all day you little brat." He sneered and
shoed me away his eyes glued to the tv that was the only thing
lighting up the room. I didn't take it personally though. I
mean he was sad and he ate away his feelings. I hope he'd get
better soon though because i had my own life to live.
"Haaaiiwee." Justin said, as if on cue."Can we
pwease have some eggs n bacon too. We hungwee." " No,
sorry sweetie we only have enough money to buy some for Daddy do
u want an apple maybe? or a yogurt tube?"I asked with a
sigh. " No! we want eggs not dumm ol yogut!" "Well
then i guess your not eating" I said firmly " Okaay ill
have a apple pwease." I tossed them both an apple then ran
outside to catch the bus.
