why would you ask me
to lie about my feelings
to make someone happy
when he already knows the truth
would he play along
or forget it all
wouldnt it be worse
to tell a lie that makes him smile
then to tell the truth
even if it makes him sad
living a lie isnt the way
to make a loving heart happy
if he needs someone to make him happy
then i hope he knows that girls not me
im not just protecting my heart
im protecting his as well
its not that he doesnt deserve a chance
ot that hell never get one
its that i dont want to pretend
i gave my heart away
when im still holding it in my hand
