Through
My Eyes
2.01
Kevin sat there on the cold bleachers, rose in his hand,
looking up at me. "You were the one who put the note in
my locker?" "..Yes," he sighed. I started to
explain myself to him, "I would've showed up, I
promise. But I thought it was someone else." "Oh,
uh ok," he replied a little confused. "You
look cold," I said, changing the subject. He laughed,
"Nah, men don't get cold." I wrapped my arms
around him, it was autumn so it got pretty chilly at night.
"Well in this case, I'm cold," he said putting
his arms around me. I rested my head in his neck. I always
thought Kev was the cutest thing in the world, so respectful
and sweet. David on the other hand, is what you call a
player. He's probably pulled that move on tons of girls,
the 'sit on my lap, kiss me' move. If Kevin truly
liked me, I believed him. And to be honest, I like him back.
He pushed my hair out of my face and kissed me, "I like
you Veronica," he admitted. It was just what I wanted to
hear too, "I like you too," I said a little
surprised that I was finally saying it. "Really?"
He took my hand, folding his fingers right in between mine.
"Yes really." He kissed me again, Kevin Gardener,
the best looking boy in our grade, kissing me. He pulled
away, "Then.. um.. will you.. be my girlfriend?"
"Yes," I said wrapping my arms around his
neck, trying to control my excitement. "One
second," I called my mom and told her she could leave
and I'd be home soon. "Be careful," she replied
like all other moms. "I'll walk you home," he
looked at me. I smiled, "Thank you." He
grabbed my hand again, and we walked, out of the fields, onto
the main street; together. I was enjoying myself, but I kept
thinking about David, how was I going to explain this to
him.
