My Crazy Ordinary Life

"Aimee Lynn, your going to be late for your first day of High School!", my mother yelled up the stairs to me.
"Hold on mom I'm fixing up my hair", I say as I burn the tips of my fingers with my cruddy straightener. I run down the stairs applying my lip-gloss with one hand, my backpack in the other. 
"Aimee you look amazing, let me take a picture.. Pleeeeasssse..", my mom begs. 
"Ugh.. Just one picture", I say. My mom snapped the picture and sent me on my way to the first day of Court High School. As I walked out to the bus I spotted my best friend Sophie, who was conveniently my neighbor. 
"Hey Aimee! AHH! I can't wait for this", Sophie squealed like a five year old.
"Haha, me either Soph... I can't wait to see everyone! Its like they all went on vacation this year, except us!", I say.
"I know right, so ridiculous.." she says holding out the "s". The bus finally screeched to a stop and we hopped on. (Not literally.. figuratively of course)
"Aimee!!! Sophie!!! Is that you? You guys look soooo different", Kara screamed from the back of the bus. Kara is one of the really popular girls you really, truly want to stay away from. 
"Hey Kara, yep its us.." I say barely making any eye contact with her scary blue eyes. 
"You guys look so tan!", she gawks. We were actually tanner and better looking than she was this year, that's a first. 
"Thanks", Sophie says answering for us. Kara turned her attention to her boyfriend, Jake. He smiled and waved at us and Kara gave him the death stare.
I turned to Sophie and whispered, "Is it just me or did Jake get even hotter over the summer? I feel soooo bad for him, he has to put up with that thing", I laugh. Sophie smiles and says, "Yeah he's a total babe, but I cannot wait to see Aaron this year". Aaron has been Sophie secret crush since 6th grade and know we are freshman, I am planning on getting them together this year. The bus pulls up in front of the huge High School and we file off the bus.
