Blue Eyes and Bright Skies. Chapter
8:
"Noah, what in the world happened to you?"
His face was swollen. His right eye was black and blue and he
had a really big cut on his cheek. His right arm was all
wrapped up and his shirt was all ratty. Noah looks at
me, and tears roll down his face. "Noah, please tell me."
He cleared his voice and started talking. "That morning, when
I woke up, I thought about the night before. I saw how much
you loved your dad, and how you admired him. You were so fragile,
and I knew i could never do anything to lose you, or hurt you. So i
went to California, to end my gang ties, so that they would never
come looking for me, or anyone I loved." He told me in a soft
voice. "You are such an idiot, Noah! You could've gotten
yourself killed!" I tell him. He starts laughing and i
say "Im serious! You could've at least taken your phone,
or called from somewhere." "Yea, I kinda forgot it and I
had no money." "You gave your mom a heart attack you
know." "Yea, but I left her a note. I knew she would tell
you." "Well, im glad you're still alive. I love you,
and don't ever do anything like that again!" "I love
you too, Ana. And I promise."
I stayed home with Noah to take care of him. He
was slowly healing, but his eye was still pretty swollen. We
didn't do a lot, we watched some movies, and he taught me some
more spanish that I didn't know. It was fun, just kinda hanging
out, making out, and me taking care of him. That next Monday
we went to school, and it was weird. I was with him 24/7 that last
week, and now I only see him three times during school. I think
I'm going through withdrawal. I told that to Noah, and he
laughed and kissed me on the forehead.
We went out on dates, to the movies,
bowling, picnics on the beach, long walks, and just really romantic
things that made me love him more and more each day. We talked
about our lives, and told each other everything. We kept
nothing from each other, and we grew closer and closer.
One day, at school, I was in
algebra. Noah was in history. The teacher was talking about
factoring, one of the easiest things ever, when the office came on
the loud speaker that speaks to the whole school. "Attention
teachers, we are in a code red. This is not a drill. I repeat, we
are in a code red. Lock all doors and close shades and follow your
instructions that you have been taught." The teacher made us
get into the corner of the room where it was away from the window
and door and we stayed there, not knowing what was going on. We
heard a gun go off, and people started screaming.
