Donee this a million times, TRUST ME. he's probably just so in shock that he can't replyy, now im not saying be shocked it a good thing or a bad thing, but just give it time and he'll giv you the answerr to thtt.goodd luck! :]

This Ryan guy is probably just stunned that you had the guts to actually tell him that. Trust me, you have a lot more courage than i do. :) You're not wasting your time on this guy if you truly do LOVE HIM. and i really mean LOVE HIM. It's not a waste of time, until you really believe in giving up. If he's that important, then it's worth it. But just give him some time.
