on october 20th; everyone in my class wore purple in honor of the 6 gay teens that committed suicide due to torture and humiliation. well; we had a gay teen come to our school that day and speak to the whole 8th grade as a whole. His speech made everyone go into tears. here's what he said [from what i remember]:

"every day when i walk into the halls at my school its like i dont fit in with everyone else. no one accepts me for who i really am. Im a great guy; inside and out. I dont want people to make fun of me because of my sexuality but i guess that doesnt happen. Im trying to make this short; my point is? I have thought about suicide many, many times. I never did it though; why? I am surrounded by family who cares enough about me to make sure I dont. If it werent for you guys, i wouldnt be here today to make this speech. So; Id like to thank all of you who are wearing purple on this day; for the 6 teens who killed themselves. I could never thank you enough."
