Life. Part 11

The drive didn’t start too smoothly at first. When I was about to turn out of the driveway I hit Drake’s mailbox by accident and then I almost ran over a cat. I drove pretty slowly on the way to the hospital and almost missed the exit. Drake was as white as a sheet the whole way to the hospital. I think it was a mixture of him worrying about his parents and worrying about how he might die at any moment.

Finally we arrived at the hospital and he bolted from the car to the entrance of the hospital. I followed him in and we went to go see his parents. The doctors said that they were going to live but they were in critical condition. His mom had 3 broken ribs and some bad burns from the airbags. His dad had 4 cracked ribs and 1 broken rib and he also had burns from the airbags.

Drake ran over to them and talked to them for awhile. I just kinda stood in the corner and waited for him to be done. He came over to me about fifteen minutes later and said that he thought we should wait to tell his parents about the baby until they were better. I agreed with him and we left about 20 minutes later.

The ride home was better and I went a little faster this time, I was getting more comfortable with it. We got back to Drake’s house and we hung out there for a while. We talked a lot about the baby and how we were going to afford to take care of it. We decided that he would get a job as soon as possible, even before the baby was born so that we would have some money when it was born. I was going to get a job a little after the baby was born and we would find a daycare somewhere.

Then I got a text from Maddie. She said to come to her house ASAP. That’s all she said, and when I texted her back, she didn’t write back to me. I was nervous, I didn’t know what was happening.

I told Drake that I had to go and I ran out of his house and ran to Maddie’s. When I got there, I was very surprised at what I saw.
