All I Ever Wanted
Prologue:
I lived in a town in Texas called Dillon. My
Dad was the football coach. He took his job very seriously. And
when I say very seriously, I mean it. He took his players out to
practice every day. After school at 3:30 to 5:30. On weekends it
was 10 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon. It's an intense
sport that Dillon took very seriously. Not only was it important
to our town... But it was like a religion. And I hated it. I was
only known as the coaches daughter. When he messed up a game and
the team lost, I got kids and even faculty members asking
questions about it as I walked down the halls and as I ate my
lunch. Football isn't like, The Dallas Cowboys to the people
in Texas. That's not what football is to these people. To
these people, football is the school in the town where they live.
During nights when there's a football game, the towns pretty
much shut down for the day. It's like a ghost town if the
school has a big game. Mostly the games took place on Fridays.
Friday nights, the towns pretty much just shut down and everyone
goes off to watch the football games. There's not a lot of
amazing players, but there's a lot of pretty good guys who
love the game and have fun even though the weather is above 100
degrees a lot of the time. It gives Texas something to brag
about. My name is Allayla Trenton. I have one younger brother.
His name is Peter. I know that all this talk about football may
bore you a bit. But trust me; I'm getting to the good
part.
