Part
5.... keep up the comments :)
We just sat there in the moment
for a while until I finally realized the time. It was 3 and I had
dance at 4.
"Oh god, I gotta go, I have dance really soon." I said as
I quickly got up.
"Uh alright, are we on for tomorrow still? You know, you
showing me around school?" he asked.
"Yea of course," I said with a smile.
"Kay good, well, I'll uh see you tomorrow," Dean
replied.
"Sounds like a plan," I started to walk down the
steps.
"One more thing Natalie," he grabbed my hand and pulled
me in for a kiss. I just looked at him and smiled, then ran down
the steps. It was actually happening. Dean and I, I guess
together?
I scurried into my house and threw on some tights and a leo. My mom
was waiting at the bottom of the stairs when i came down
dressed.
"Let's go sweetheart," said my mom.
"I'm ready, I'm ready." I answered. We both got
in the car and within a few minutes i was getting out of the car
heading into the studio. Today was my two hour long, sunday
afternoon, pointe class. Regularly the studio was closed on
Sundays, but a couple other girls and I wanted to dance everyday so
we got a special request to have one director come in and teach us
a two hour class.
We started at the bar with plies then some tendus before putting on
our pointe shoes, just to warm up our ankles. Throughout the class
i couldn't stop thinking about Dean, and how perfect our kiss
was. That was the only thing that was on my mind. Just like I knew
would happen, but at this point I didn't care. We put on our
pointe shoes after the tendu warm-up. The four of us in the class
had already been on pointe for multiple years so we often just
goofed around and did turns or leaps across the room. We started
off with sotashas across the floor. I got in line behind my friend
Katherine, who was first in line. I was barely paying attention to
Katherine when i realized it was my turn to go.
Dean Dean Dean! His name kept replaying over and over in
my head. I began across the floor as I started to replay the scene
of Dean and I out on his porch. All of a sudden I was in the air
and i came crashing down the the floor. I didn't know what
happened. I lay frozen on the ground with my leg crushed beneath
me.
"Natalie! Natalie! Can you hear me? Somebody call 911!
Now!" i couldn't move. I could barely even open my eyes.
They felt so heavy against my head. Before I knew it a strong man
came over to me and carefully placed me on a stretcher and rushed
me to the hospital. After I got to the hospital everything faded
out and I had no clue what was going on.
"Is she alright?" I finally gained back my sense of
hearing and I could handle to open my eyes a smidge.
"I think she will be, she suffered a pretty big fall.
Especially in pointe shoes, it could've been much worse,"
I heard a doctor say. I tilted my head and saw Dean standing there
next to the doctor. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to
come. It was his fault. He did this too me. I slowly sat up and
realized I coudn't feel my leg. At all. I looked over to Dean
as he tried to smile at me. The doctor soon left and Dean came up
close to my bed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked irritatedly.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay," he replied.
"Okay? I can't feel my leg and you want to know if I'm
okay?!" I yelled.
"Yea Im worried,"
"Don't give me that crap! You did this to me! I told you
that having you in my life would cause a distraction, and look I
was right! I got distracted and I fell! It's all your
fault!" I felt like i was screaming at the top of my lungs. I
was so angry.
"Natalie calm down, I didn't.." he trailed off.
"Get out!" he stood there in shock, "I said get
out!" He quickly left the room. As I watched him leave a teal
slowly trickled down my face.
