I take a deep breath and close my eyes.
The darkness of my eyelids seems to calm me.
I’ve been told to picture the last thing that brought me peace.
I picture your smile,
The way you shake your head and laugh
When I do something cute and crazy.
I picture your hand,
And the way your fingers ever so smoothly slid into mine.
And at last I can picture your essence,
Your very being.
The way my mind goes out of wack
When I think of who you really are.
