chapter 3.
I
curled up underneath my soft sky blue sheets. I woke up to the
annoying buzzing of my stupid sea green matalic alarm clock. Since
I went to bed early from having fun with Matt, I was grumpy and
pulled the clock out of the wall left it there to go back to bed.
When I finally went to sleep I was awoken a second time by my bed
being shaken. The vibrations traveled up through my toes to my
neck. I knew straight away who it was she wakes me up everyday like
this, Tess.
I held my head and shouted, "What, what, what!"
"Mom wants you to go to the bakery and get some
milk."
" Fine, just a few more minutes." I'm an average teen
who wants to sleep more, it's summer for pete sake!
After moments of resting and being an endless
pit of nothing I got up to go to the store. I put on a yellow and
white striped abercrombie bikini with bows on the sides. Then I put
on clothes over. I staggered into the kitchen, a room with black
and white tiles on the floor and white walls and ceiling, with a
big wooden table smack dab in the center.
"Hey mom, were is the money?" I asked.
"On the counter sweetie."
"Okay back in a few."
I started on my amazing mission to buy the
wonderful liquid that is milk. I walked down a couple
blocks to come across a small bakery, I walked inside and it
was almost like kitchen black and white tiles from wall to wall. It
had a huge counter with glass windows so you could see the
pastries. They had everything from mini turtle cakes to black and
white cookies. I walked to the back to the slide-open fridge and
grabbed a carton of organic milk. I figured I would surprise my mom
with two coconut macaroons, her and my favorite.
Once I purchased everything I walked back
home. Following The concrete sidewalk I had just one more block to
go. I passed the beach entry way and a deli to then come across my
house, I entered my house which when I entered had a nice cool
breeze there to greet me. I walked through the hallway and walked
into the kitchen. I put the krinkled paper bag on the table next to
the milk.
"What's that?"
"What's what?"
"What's in the bag?"
"Only the bestest treat for the bestest mom."
"Okay what do you want?" she laughed.
"Nothing but just to show you I care," I assured. I
pulled out the two macaroons, one for me one for her. As I placed
it in front of her, her eyes widened and a sparkle gleemed in her
eye. She picked it up and took a huge bite.
"That Matt boy put you in a really good mood huh?" she
said swallowing.
"I guess so." I replied. I finished up mine and was ready
to visit the beach and hopefully Matt.
"I'm going to the beach I'll be back in an
hour."
"Okay have fun." She said relaxed, I know she trusts
me.
I ran off knowing I started the day off good. As
I exited my house I saw Matt was too, with his surf board under his
arms, it was a yellow board with a big thick stripe down the middle
it had two grafitti words on each side. I read 'freedom
suffer.' On the back it had a huge tiger shark, that's a
pretty sick board if you ask me. I waited on the steps so he could
catch up.
"Why hello there, if it isn't Lily." He said holding
his hand out. I grabbed it and gracefully walked down the
steps.
" Were are you headed?"
"The beach just as yourself." I answered. He smiled and
we walked to the SeasideCove beach together, not letting go the
whole way.
We walked to the entry way and showed the
lifeguard our black and yellow badges.
" I want to see you catch some waves." I said and smiled
as I set up our towels. He ran down happily to show me what he had
to offer. He swam back a little and waited for the biggest wave. It
had to be as big ten feet! He pulled off some tricks until the
worst thing possible could have happened. He fell over and got
caught in a rip tide.
