Her Time To Shine
Jenna is
getting ready for school while her mother constantly calls her down
for breakfast. Jenna is just straightening her last strand of hair
and making her last touch ups to her makeup then heads down stairs
to the aroma of pancakes with syrup and whipped cream. Just the way
she likes it. She scarfs down her breakfast, grabs her books and
purse and walks to her bus stop. You'll be okay. It's just a new school,
there's nothing to be afraid of. Jenna tells herself. She has just moved over
the summer from California. Jenna is very insecure. Even though she
is from California, she doesn't have the best body and she doesn't
have the greatest tan either. She doesn't have pretty beach blonde
hair or blue eyes. She walks on her bus as kids from all directions
are screaming and throwing paper balls at each other. After the bus
ride that seemed like forever, Jenna finally made it to school.
After the final bell had already rang, Jenna still couldn't find
her homeroom. Walking the empty hallways, she dropped her books
everywhere. She sighed as she started to pick them up as someone
started helping her. She looked up from the floor and saw the most
beautiful thing she had ever saw. A boy with dark brown eyes and
chocolate colored hair wearing a red polo shirt with jeans
connected eyes with her. He smiled and continued to help pick up
her books. His smile made her nearly faint. It was kind and sweet
while his gorgeous eyes and perfect messy hair told Jenna that this
boy was also outgoing and reckless. "Thanks. It's my first day
and I'm kind of lost." Jenna said with a giggle. The boy
laughed. "I'll show you around. My name's David. And
yours?" "What? Oh, my names Jenna." She said.
"Oh, well, nice to meet you Jenna." He grabbed her hand
firmly, but also sweetly. "Come with me." As he smiled
one of his perfect smiles at her again...
