I was running full speed down the dark, eery roads of Ohio. I
panted, and cried, but I had no breath left to scream. I was
being chased, by 2 horrible men, who I had stupidly refused to give
my purse to. If they had just let me get one thing out of it, then
they could have it, and that was it. But they wouldn't let me take
anything out of it. All I had wanted was the little picture of my
little sister, Kasey, who died 3 years ago. It was the only picture
I had left of her, since I ran away from home. And I was not giving
up that picture. So I ran. And now they were after me. They were
closer. Way closer then I had expected when I turned around. Then,
I tripped over something, and fell, face first into the ground. I
felt the men's hands close over my mouth and nose. I kicked and
tried to scream, but no one saw. Then, something happened.
"GET THE HELL OF HER." A man's voice screamed. The man
grabbed my persuer's shirt, and yanked him off me. He punched them
until they were uncontiuos. "I-Uh- Thank you." I said
quietly. He smiled at me. "Um, do you want me to call someone
for you?" The boy asked. "No." I said quickly, as he
pulled out his cell phone to call the police. He looked at me,
confused. "You can't call the police." I said.
"Why-" He began, but then fixed his eyes on something
behind me. I turned, and gasped. It was a picture of me, and it
said their was a 50,000 reward on my head. You see, I had been
accused of killing my little sister, even though I would NEVER EVER
do such a thing, the police honestly believed it was me.
"Please, oh please don't turn me in. I'll, I didn't really do
the crime, I was accused, please!" I pleaded. "I'm not
gonna call the police on you Vanessa." He said, clearly
getting my name from the poster. "I'm Darron." He said.
"Look, I know what your going through, I, when I was 13, I was
accused of robbing a store, but it was my twin brother., but nobody
would believe it was him, because he was the good one, I was the
bad one. So, I moved out here in Ohio, and just stayed clear from,
you know, police ever since." He said. "So, really, your
on the run too?" I asked him. "Yeah, pretty
much." He said. "Say, would you like to come back to my
place? Its raining out, and Im sure the police will be here
eventually." He asked. I nodded hesitantley. I wasn't totally
sure if I could trust him, but he was too hot to turn down. So we
stood up, he took my hand, and we walked all the way to his
appartment. When we got there, there were police cars everywhere.
Darron and I looked at each other. Now was the times for Darron to
prove he is on my side.
