I woke to someone shaking my shoulder. “Ari? Arianna get up. ”

I opened my eyes. Staring at me were a familiar pair of blue eyes. I groaned. “Five more minutes Logan,” I said. Then I remembered. Hannah. I sat up, my hair flying. “Hannah!” I yelled. Ash woke up to my screaming, falling out of his chair.

“Where is she?” I yelled.

“Shh,” Logan said. Ash was standing up grumbling, brushing off his pants. “She’s in room with her baby.” I sprinted out of the waiting room and into the room. Hannah was sitting there, holding her baby.

My eyes brimmed with tears. “Hannah sweetheart!”

Hannah looked up, grinning from ear to ear. “Ari!” I ran over.

Her baby looked up, her bright blue eyes shining. “Ari, meet Kara,” Hannah said.

“Kara,” I whispered. “Can I hold her?”

Hannah handed me her baby. I cradled her in my arms. Hannah shut her eyes, smiling. Eventually she fell asleep. I stayed there, holding Kara.

Ash walked in. His hair was sticking up, and the pattern from the waiting room chair on his cheek. His clothes were rumpled. He looked adorable. “Is this sweetie here Kara?” He walked up, sitting beside me. “Hey there,” he whispered. “Say hi to your uncle Ash.” I giggled. Kara grabbed my finger, gurgling. Hannah was snoring beside me. Logan had seated himself in the chair next to Hannah, holding her hand.

Ash leaned over, brushing his lips on my cheek. “I owe you 10 bucks.”

I giggled. “Pay up.”

He reached into his pocket and handed me the money. I tucked it into my pocket. I looked down at Kara, who was now falling asleep. “How are we going to take care of her?”

“What do you mean?” Ash asked.

“Baby’s cost money Ash. She needs attention. Food. Sleep. Hannah can’t to all of this.”

Ash shook his head. “Hannah won’t be alone. She’s got us. Kara Rose will be the most spoiled baby in the world.”

Logan smiled from the chair over. “Hopefully Hannah knows this.” He was still holding Hannah’s hand, not taking his eyes off her face.

Ash stood up, brushing off his pants. “Come on,” he said, reaching out for my hand. “Let’s head home. We can visit Hannah and Kara tomorrow. Besides,” he said, sniffing his armpit. “I need a shower. Now.” Laughing, I lay down Kara in the crib next to Hannah.

I followed Ash to the door. “You coming Logan?” I asked, turning around to face him.

He shook his head. “I’ll stay a bit longer,” he said smiling.

“Logan. It’s been 26 hours since you’ve slept.”

He shrugged. “I’ll take a nap later,”

I shook my head and walked out with Ash.
